Introduction
Chinook is one of the few dog breeds developed in America and has been derived from a single male ancestor. This is one of the rarest breeds in the world. In fact in 1966, the Guinness Book of World Records listed it as world’s rarest dog as merely 125 dogs of this breed existed that time. Later, in 1980, the breed reached a stage of near extinction when only 12 breedable dogs remained.
