Pet supplies like leashes and crates are quite useful in keeping both the pets away from each other.

As for cat, make sure that her nails have been trimmed before the introduction sessions. Increase the duration of such sessions gradually and give both your pets an opportunity to spend some time together to develop bonding and compatibility. Try to keep these interaction sessions after the dog has had some exercise or to reduce his activity level. The process can take weeks or even months depending on both the pets’ individual personalities. Adult cats can be a bit of a problem here as they tend to show indifference to new dogs.
